Canvas is UB’s online classroom, where faculty and students connect with each other virtually. Every course – both online and on-campus - has a shell in Canvas that can be used for teaching & learning.

Blackboard Collaborate - Online technology platform at the University of Bridgeport

Collaborate Ultra is a real-time video conferencing tool that lets you add files, share your screen, and use a virtual whiteboard to interact with your students. Collaborate Ultra opens right in your browser, so you don’t have to install any software to join a session. It is now available in all Canvas courses. It can also be used outside of Canvas upon request. For best results use the Google Chrome browser.

Panopto - University of Bridgeport Online TechnologyPanopto is a video content management system for uploading, managing and sharing recorded lectures, flipped classroom videos, campus events, and more. It comes with built-in video analytics, a web-based video editor, automatic encoding to ensure your videos play efficiently on any device, and a unique search engine that helps your students review material mentioned or shown in their course videos. Panopto can easily be enabled in any Canvas course.

Respondus - University of Bridgeport Online Technology

Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser (similar to Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) that locks down the testing environment within Canvas, so students are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. When an assessment is started, students are locked into it until they submit it for grading.

Respondus Monitor is a companion product for LockDown Browser that requires students to use a webcam to record themselves during an exam. Students can take the exam at any time of the day or night, and Respondus Monitor automatically flags students for suspicious behavior, such as leaving the computer during the exam, or a different person entering the video frame.
